Well, it's now Day 2 of the five days before my diet starts. Wouldn't you think I'd want to start cutting back now to get ready? Of course not! I'm eating every breaded, fried, and sugar-coated snack that pushes and shoves it's way in front of me. (Of course I had to wait in line for 25 minutes for it to push in front of me, but burritos don't come easy.)

Well, it's 10:15 and I've got to get to bed. I couldn't sleep all night last night - visions of drill sargeants pushing my face into a platter of bean sprouts covered in one ounce of skim milk.

Diary of a Dieter

Wow! Here I go!
I'm ready to start a better life.

After a painful divorce, I gained weight at a tremendous speed - 30 pounds in 3 months and 30 more in the next three years. I've tried all sorts of diets, but I can't seem to stick to them. Not that they're bad diets - I'm just lazy and I like fried pies.

It's time. I'm 46 years old and get winded jogging to the stop sign on my street (and I live on the corner).

On Monday, I start the Ideal Protien diet. Ever started a diet? You figure, I'll lose 4 pounds the first week, 2 pounds the second week, etc. You figure how long it's going to take. "By June I'll look great!" I've done it 100 times.

Of course, I've never made it public for all the world to see. So here I go for the 101st time. I have to do it now to avoid public humiliation.

Who knows - maybe someone else will be inspired to get healthy and make a better life too.
